Internet access for everyone

It’s such a drag. It used to be there would be one crazy guy in your office or whatever who would insist on some nutty theory of why something was happening or some other conspiracy, and you’d just say, “okay, Ralph, I gotta get back to work” and walk away. But now, they’ve found their tribe (as early internet pundits used to say) and they share and amplify each other, and the people who used to say, “I don’t know, that seems a little weird” are just as swept up in it as the rest. Bored moms who used to just spread gossip now spread this stuff and are down algorithmically-fed rabbit-holes of insanity, as are others with too much time on their hands. It actually makes me worry when politicians promise internet access for everyone everywhere. I get why that’s good, but also why it can be very, very bad.
